Andreas Ntalakas

Andreas Ntalakas (MSc) graduated from the Electrical Engineering School, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering of Aristotle University Of Thessaloniki, Greece (1999). Besides Sek's design and integration, his involvement in Roboskel expands the team's capability to build and operate intelligent robots.

During 1997-1998 he was affiliated with Information Technologies Institute, and involved in projects using signal and image processing. Since 1999 he followed a career as a freelance software engineer, primarily serving the needs of the private sector. His affiliation to NCSR Demokritos has seen several projects at different institutes, including 3D visualization at the Institute of Nuclear Technology & Radiation Protection and the BOEMIE project at the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications.

His involvement with robotics started on 2005, when he started building small wheeled and tracked mobile robots. Later, on 2008 he established his own company – XRobotics - and built a heavy duty mobile robot (xbot) targeting security applications. The design for the next generation - xbot 2 - robot, won funding in a nationwide action for spin-off companies, even though it never made use of it.

He participated during Sek's design and integration. During this process he built upon previous experience in the fields (mechanical design, construction electronics integration and ROS programming) as well as 3D printing for rapid prototyping.
