Athanasia Sapountzi

Athanasia Sapountzi participated in the Multimodal Speaker Recognition and Localization project that Roboskel organized in the context of IRSS 2013 (July 2013). She then joined Roboskel as an intern for her Electrical and Computer Engineering degree at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she worked on the improvement and the real-time implementation (Python, ROS) of the human pattern recognition method originally developed and prototyped in MATLAB by Theodore Varvadoukas for his BSc thesis. She was also involved in preparing and running the Roboskel demonstration at Researchers' Night 2013.After graduating, Athanasia briefly stayed on as a Research Associate working on a method for using intensity information to improve the segmentation of laser range data (December 2013 - January 2014). She then left for FERCHAU Engineering (Germany) to pursue a career in industry.
