Stasinos Konstantopoulos graduated from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, University of Patras, Greece (1997) and went on to pursue an MSc in Artificial Intelligence (Edinburgh, UK, 1998) and a PhD on inductive logic and language technology (Groningen, the Netherlands, 2003).

He has been affiliated to NCSR "Demokritos" since 2005, where he has worked for several national, FP6-IST, FP7-ICT, and Horizon 2020 projects, delving into machine learning, computational logic, semantic modelling, and language engineering.

His involvement with robots, not counting SciFi, starts with FP6-IST Indigo, a European project on human-robot interaction. In Indigo, Stasinos developed a method for selecting the content that the robot would deliver next in a way that not only reflects personalization to a given user's needs but also exhibits human personality traits (not necessarily positive ones, for that matter). He has also worked on other issues around embodied dialogue systems and robot perception, and is excited about perception modalities and, in general, capabilities that robots have and humans don't, such as laser range finders.
